DC then, DC now

A year ago, in my 30th week of pregnancy, we decided to take a last minute trip to DC together. One last trip just the two of us, before it was no longer "just the two of us." It was a great trip despite the blizzard in the mountains of WV that almost left us stranded. It was everything we wanted it to be. We relaxed, got away from our 9-5s, and even saw a few hints of spring on the budding trees near the Jefferson Memorial. It so nice to get away right when the doldrums of winter were kicking in. We made a promise to each other to return with our daughter in one year.

This year, a much different experience. Our daughter doesn't like to sleep anywhere but in her carseat or her crib. You can imagine the sleep deprivation we were feeling by the time we made it home! But we really did have a nice trip together. Our first trip anywhere as a family of 3! We definitely made some memories that Jeff and I will never forget. Memories that we can share with our little girl through pictures and stories.

I never shared any of the pictures from our trip last year because I was big, uncomfortable and exhausted by the time I made it home from work, made dinner and cleaned the kitchen. And truthfully, I have yet to finish editing the photos. When you photograph other families your own family photos tend to take the back burner.

However....here are a few from our trip last year. I hope you enjoy!
